In the 70s, 80s, & 90s, music seemed enjoyable and grand. The crowd screamed over their favorite stars, and when someone like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston made history, it was truly because of hard work and talent though they may have struggled drug addiction in their personal lives. They got where they got singing.
But I saw change happening in the mid to late 90s. I began to see Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston go downhill as hip hop rose up large during the east coast and west coast rivalry. Even rap music wasn’t the same. Our big rap stars like Tupac and Biggie were murdered.
Now today, we hear about R Kelly and see him in prison . We hear about Diddy and see him in prison. We hear about the death of Aaliyah and its story. There may be more to the story, and they all seem like one big camp tied to one another. We even hear about Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson hanging out with some of them. Whatever happened, it was spreading all over.
What I have been hearing sounds like drugs, prostitution, murder, and blackmail. It may have been something that has been going on for years and maybe some people weren’t aware of it. Once upon a time, I wasn’t aware of it. I wanted to be a music star and make records. I could have been someone walking into something blind and could have gotten messed up. And I do believe someone like Michael, Whitney, and Aaliyah had good intentions. So far, that’s how I see it all.
