I don’t have many words about R Kelly’s daughter Buku Abi (Joann Kelly). In the 2024 documentary, R. Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey, it is said she mentioned abuse from her father. I was hoping it wasn’t true when I first heard about it. I thought maybe it wasn’t true. I thought it was just a rumor or another tabloid story. I never saw the R. Kelly Karma documentary.
I listen carefully to what Damon Dash has got to say whenever he talks about Aaliyah & R Kelly. I don’t think Damon lied when he said Aaliyah tried to talk and she couldn’t. When someone does something real bad to a person, it probably is hard to talk about it. It might have been real hard for Joann Kelly. R Kelly is her father.
Sean "Diddy" Combs was sentenced to 50 months (4+ years) in 2025 for convictions on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution, having been acquitted of more severe charges like racketeering and sex trafficking. R. Kelly received a much longer sentence (30+ years) after convictions on racketeering and sex trafficking, which involved a systemic, long-term pattern of abusing minors.
I don’t understand what the difference is. They both are charged for terrible crimes. So why does Diddy only get 4 yrs. when they gave R Kelly 30 yrs. They have both been accused of racketeering. There should be no lesser charges. Racketeering is racketeering. Sex trafficking is sex trafficking. There should have been none whatsoever. I don’t understand the judgement.
R Kelly’s brother Carey talks about how obsessed R Kelly was, and he mentioned how close R Kelly was to Aaliyah. When Aaliyah died, he said it didn’t seem to change R Kelly. He got worse. Carey mentioned how he was on tour with R Kelly, and how they were raised up knowing about God. Watch the video below.

According to Ronnie Bo, R Kelly admitted to some things he has done. He explained what R Kelly’s song, I Wish was all about. In R Kelly’s video, we saw him talking to his mother and speaking on gaining the whole world and loosing your soul. You can find those words in Mark 8:6.
I remember R Kelly saying: I can’t believe my ears and what everybody’s saying. Folks don’t know the half. And if I make it out this thug, I’ll see you again someday. I Wish - I Wish. Ever Since this money come, there’s been nothing but stress. Sometimes I wish that I could trade in my success. …” R Kelly goes on to talk about the fake things.
I wouldn’t doubt it that there are rituals involved in the music industry. If there are people doing such things anywhere, they should be arrested. God made laws himself about rituals, sorcery, or witchcraft. Evil cannot enter into his kingdom. But all manner of sin can be forgiven and blasphemyexcept the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost (Matt. 12:31-32).
I remember what Damon Dash said what Aaliyah said about R Kelly: Let that man live but keep him …. away from me.

I came across the news about R Kelly’s daughter. I don’t have much to say about this. All I know, you would have expected to hear about this earlier, but now? I didn’t hear about the abuse from her before. She better be telling the truth on her father. And now, they gonna make sure he doesn’t get out of jail. I feel bad for his daughter if it’s true.
Long before R Kelly was accused of abusing women, I kept hearing a voice in my conscience say, “Don’t let him fool you.” I liked some of R Kelly’s songs and enjoyed his music, but I didn’t know him as a person. I knew he was a man that liked women, but I never pictured him being the kind of man that they say he is today. I don’t feel good about seeing entertainers in trouble. It broke my heart to hear that Aaliyah was dead, and it hurt more hearing all the bad stuff about R Kelly come back again. This time, the news was about Aaliyah being forced against her will instead of two people being attracted to each other and secretly getting married. I asked myself what really happened to Aaliyah. However, I heard R Kelly’s side. I didn’t enjoy it that’s for sure. For the past years, I haven’t heard anything good about people in the music industry.
It must have happened. Chilli said it didn’t take a documentary for her to know the truth, and that R Kelly was canceled years ago in her book for marrying Aaliyah. So Aaliyah said the marriage didn’t happen. If she had said that the marriage did happen, there might would have been trouble openly. It might would have really messed things up for Aaliyah, but it might would have been a blessing in disguise in order for the truth to be known about R Kelly. The public didn’t know like the people that was actually around Aaliyah and R Kelly. The public can get told anything and people may believe it. Fans may believe it. We don’t know the truth for ourselves when we aren’t there. However, we can read between lines and listen to people we think may be sincere. But still, there is nothing like knowing the truth for yourself. Then you don’t have to say what somebody else said.

If R Kelly did something bad to Aaliyah, it should have been known just like it was known that Ike abused Tina Turner. How many people knew and didn’t speak out that R Kelly was doing bad things to females? They are just as bad. They allowed a crime to continue and spread by R Kelly. The crime could have went there way to their families. James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
It is said that Aaliyah did tell someone. I wish that she had went to the police, but I know that she was probably afraid for her life. Who would have believed her? Was she told she had to protect her image and to keep things a secret? It really makes me wonder what really was going on with Aaliyah in the music busniess altogether. You can’t tell that a celebrity is hurting when they smile before the camera unless you suspect that something is wrong and is very good at detecting things.
I don’t want to believe that all of the things that is said going on in the music business is true with the stars, but if true, somebody needs to put a stop to it. I’m quite sure that it’s not just Aaliyah and R Kelly. There is so much cover up, and it’s hard to say what’s true, but we do know that wrong is just wrong.
If R Kelly is still doing bad things to females, something should be done about it. That says a lot about the law if they know and if there is evidence to prove that R Kelly is doing bad things to women. Why isn’t he in jail? Is it because he’s rich and famous? Is it because he’s able to pay people off? Whose backing up R Kelly if it’s true that he’s doing bad things? People should be stopped for harming others.
Today is mother's day. I miss my mother and I wish I could bring her back. It's not impossible with God. I wish he would let me do some impossible things. Aaliyah died the same year as my mother. If I could, I would bring them both back just for a little while. It would be nice if God could let our loved ones come and visit us every now and then. That would be enough for me. I wouldn't feel so hurt about them being gone, although, spiritually I sometimes still hear them. R Kelly mentioned in his song that he heard voices in his head. That is because the spirit never dies. A person does not have to be necessarily crazy to hear a voice. I read my Bible enough to know. God speaks to us different ways. Sometimes through angels, and I believe through the voice of loved ones that are passed and gone. God personally lets me know that certain ones that have died are not really gone. You have to understand God to understand spirit. That is why it is important to learn about God.
R Kelly may have done some bad things in his life, but there has got to be some good in him too in order for God to give him such a great talent. When he wrote this song, he wrote the truth. He's telling you about what is fake and how we are asleep to what is real. We don't realize what good we have until it is gone. However, we are the ones that are dead, and the ones that have made it into God's Kingdom are more alive than we are. I wish that we could all see what is real, what is true, and live it.
