Princes R&B: Heart’s Translation

Welcome to the Princess R&B podcast. Today's topic is Heart's Translation-Vessel.

Let’s start with … The "Heart's Translation" Approach:
When I listen to Aaliyah’s music now, like her song ‘Try Again’, it’s like my mind translates the melody into the exact encouragement I need. I’ll hear a specific riff or a lyric, and it registers in my conscience as: 'Don’t give up now. I’m with you.'…..

Aaliyah tribute on BET Tonight

It can be beneficial to revisit old videos from time to time. Reflecting on the past, many have described Aaliyah as a kind individual. Those who knew her spoke highly of her. It seemed she posed no threat to anyone; she was focused on her education and had aspirations for her future. However, the music industry can be a different environment altogether, seemingly filled with various cliques. I’m starting to think that Aaliyah would have thrived better if she had been surrounded by more supportive people.

Aaliyah-Proof In the Puddin’

Forget all the propaganda, lies, and scandal. Aaliyah told you how she wanted to be remembered. You can’t erase what she did with her talent. It is written. It went down in music history. ..

Aaliyah Had A Dream

Art by: Gail Nobles © 2023

Aaliyah worked hard in her career. You may think she made it to the top easy, but Aaliyah had some struggles. And we all know that she could have done more with her music & movies combined.

If Aaliyah was alive, I picture her making mini movies out of her videos. There might would have been a sequel to the video “Try Again”. ….

Aaliyah & the Dark Side of Fantasy

Art by: Gail Nobles © 2023

Aaliyah played the character Akasha in the 2002 movie Queen of the Damned. She was a killer and the Queen of the Damned. Aaliyah liked vampires. I did too at one time. I watched ‘The Lost Boys” and the day time serial “Dark Shadows” , which aired from 1966 to 1971.

Aaliyah loved the dark side of fantasy. She wanted to play as a vampire. If Aaliyah had lived, there might would have been more movies of the Queen of the Damned, Akasha. ….

My Picturization of Aaliyah

Art by: Gail Nobles © 2023

Aaliyah lived to make two movies. They were Queen of the Damned & Romeo Must Die. My favorite movie was Romeo Must Die starring Jet Li and Aaliyah. The movie led me to think Aaliyah would eventually star in martial art movies if she had lived. I can see her in my mind now. She might would have made a Blaxploitation film in the 2000’s in Kung Fu action after Romeo Must Die. Blaxploitation films were made in the early 1970s. Some of the Blaxploitation female Kung Fu action movies that were made are Cleopatra Jones & TNT Jackson. In modern times like we live in, I believe Aaliyah could have been an even better Kung Fu action lady in films. I believe she could have made some big smash hit movies along with her music if she had been alive today. ....

Aaliyah/You Really Have To Know Me

Chorus: You Really Have To Know Me

Sometimes I go back & I look at video clips of Aaliyah when she said her age was a secret. I think to myself, “Aaliyah looks like a New York City Girl.”

And I’ll hear a voice that sounds like her voice in my conscience talking to me.

Aaliyah: You knew me when I was young.

Aaliyah had to be special. I’m not the only one that can hear her or dream about her or have a vision. The good book did tell us about dreams and visions. Which is probably why we experience the things we do today.

Chorus: You Really Have To Know Me

I heard Aaliyah’s voice ask me, “Who am I? You’ve got to know me.” And when I saw Aaliyah in her music video, “We Need A Resolution”, I saw her snakes. I heard her say, “I’m not a pervert.”

I detect from her voice that she really wants me to know who she really is. Hollywood is just Hollywood, but Aaliyah is Aaliyah.

(Chorus) You Really Have To Know Me. Song by Gail Nobles

Aaliyah’s Love For Home

Aaliyah Haughton, She said: I stay home a lot. I’m a homebody. Blockbuster nights are cool. I hang with my brother a lot. I go to the movies. We’re very close. (Chorus)

Aaliyah, she had love for home. She had love for home. And She said: The best way for me to deal with fame is having that personal life. That’s why it’s very important for me, and it’s sacred to me. You owe it to yourself to have some reality.

 (Chorus)

One more thing Aaliyah said: Music was my first love. But acting is something I’ve always been interested in. That started when I was a little girl.

Headlines said the rising star didn’t forget her Detroit roots. Fans mourned and said her greatness was unfulfilled.

(Chorus) Aaliyah knew the way home. She had love for home.

Aaliyah - The Back & Forth Song

Aaliyah sang the song Back & Forth. I heard Aaliyah say: Don’t get in my way.” Aaliyah was in a spiritual move. She said she had a recurring dream that she was flying away from her troubles. You see the reason her dream was dark because the enemy had fear that she would make it. ….

Cause You Aaliyah

I can only imagine what Aaliyah’s music would have been like today.
Cause you Aaliyah were the best.

 Aaliyah Haughton is a treasure
She gave us music with no measure
I know she intended to go on
And we miss her cause she’s gone
Aaliyah Haughton now is at rest
And we know she gave her best
She gave us music with all her heart
And made us feel like we were a part
We feel like it now and we felt like it then
The love for her and music has no end
It’s a kind of love we know that lives
The kind we know that gives and gives
Cause you Aaliyah were the best

The Name Aaliyah

Photo credit: MikaV - Own work

This is to all the Aaliyah’s and Aliyah’s of the world in the name of Aaliyah. (Intro) The name Aaliyah can be pronounced Aaliyah or Aliyah. The singer Aaliyah always pronounced her name Aaliyah and spelled it with two Aa’s at the beginning of her name. Some other females that have the name spell it with only one A at the beginning.

On the Whitney Soul Podcast, today’s topic is Aaliyah. Be of good cheer. According to the good book, they’ll be resurrection & she’ll rise again.

 No journey to the past
There will be tomorrow
 Not yesterday (Get up)
 Like a pilot
She’s coming our way
Coming back to stay

Whitney Houston was an Aaliyah fan. She said she loved her voice and thought her songs were great for the new breed of music that came in. Whitney said Aaliyah was perfect for Sparkle and that she wanted it and prepared for it. But Aaliyah had a tragic end. It made Whitney very sad. …

Aaliyah-Today's Topic Are You That Somebody

Wikipedia.org. Usage: Fair Use
Today, I'm thinking of Aaliyah and the single, Are You That Somebody. It was a Grammy nominated single performed by Aaliyah, recorded for the Dr. Dolittle soundtrack. The song was written and composed by Static Major, who also sang backing vocals, and Timbaland, who, in addition to writing the song, produced and performed a guest rap for it.

"Are You That Somebody?" was a commercial success, reaching number 21 on the US Billboard Hot 100, number 11 in the United Kingdom, number three in the Netherlands and number one in New Zealand. The song was released in June 16, 1998

Aaliyah will never be forgotten. She brought us a new sound between Hip Hop and R&B.
