Questioning Copyright: The Aaliyah Case

Last year, I heard that Aaliyah was sued for copyright infringement of Bobby Caldwell’s song - that it sounded too similar in Aaliyah’s song: Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number. If it had never been told, I would have never known. It had to have been the music the publisher was suing for because the song itself was totally different. I can’t really hear where Caldwell’s music sounds like Aaliyah’s  music either. Her style may have been inspired by Caldwell’s music but it doesn’t sound quite the same. I think the laws about suing for copyright infringement should change some. It makes me question copyright infringement laws.

Words From Aaliyah In Dream

 SOMETIMES dreams are just dreams. I dreamed that Aaliyah said to me: “I had nothing to do with a cult. That was something they told.” 

I might have dreamed about her that night because there are stories out there that she was in a cult and that worried my heart. I hope to God that the words in my dream about Aaliyah are true.

Aaliyah Wouldn’t Want To Be Here

 With the way the world is now, Aaliyah wouldn’t want to be here. Hard times are ahead. The Lord is trying to prepare us NOW! But it’s not for everyone. The Bible is speaking.

The Aaliyah Stories

 My thought today is some of the Aaliyah stories I’ve been hearing for years I think are false. I’m going to say I don’t know what happened to her. Yea, I saw that there was a funeral. Yea, she’s probably dead. Yea, I saw a messed up plane that crashed. But I don’t know that she died in a plane crash. I don’t know how she died, and I’m going to leave it at that. There are things I’m sure that they don’t want us to know. There are people that protect people. On top of that, Aaliyah talked about privacy in the end suddenly. 

To Aaliyah Fans

 Here is a video to the Aaliyah fans posted in the past and is still important. It’s telling the Aaliyah fans to stand up for Aaliyah’s mom. I didn’t know Aaliyah’s mom, and there is not much for me to say. But I do think she should have gotten some of that 90 million dollars if Barry Hankerson did get it. And people shouldn’t be blaming things on Aaliyah’s mom that they don’t know about. It might not have been Aaliyah’s mom. Check out the video: Aaliyah Fans Stand Up for Mrs. Diane Haughton. Jesus and Me

 Aaliyah would have eventually sang the gospel I do believe. She probably would have reunited with her Aunt Gladys Knight. Aaliyah wanted to do a gospel album before she passed away. Based on my understanding, she was facing some challenges, which likely contributed to her becoming a more powerful singer. I heard some change in her singing voice. She was getting older and maturing. 

I can envision Aaliyah performing a song similar to "Jesus and Me" by the Barnes Family. She was not one to voice her complaints or dwell on her issues. However, her desire to sing and create a gospel album suggests that she must have felt a deep connection in her soul.
